Christopher had Soccer tryouts for the High School this past week. Soccer is something Christopher loves and I think he is pretty good at. Of course I am his mother, but others have also told me that he is a good player. So tryouts started Monday morning at the 6:30am. The boys had to run a mile and then sprints. Christopher ran the mile in 6:15. And the sprints had to be run in under 18secs. Then Monday afternoon they went back to scrimmage and do some drills. Tuesday afternoon they did more drills. Today they were suppose to have one more day of tryouts and then they would find out if they made the team or not. Well yesterday after practice they said they would be posting the results after school today and practice would start after school. I have been extremely nervous this whole week(as if I were trying out). I think as a mother you want the best for your child. I knew this was something that Christopher wanted really really badly. I know how nervous I was for him, I can only imagine what he was feeling. So as I sat in the car waiting for him to emerge from school I think I about hyperventilated. Of course most of you know that Christopher is a joker, so I had told him last night that he is not allowed to say he didn't make it if he did (I had done this to my mom when I tried out for the dance team and she still talks about it to this day, Sorry Mom!) So as he is coming out to the car, I cannot tell by looking at him, if he made it or not, As I am sitting there giving the thumbs up sign he just looks at me....When he finally gets in the car, he just says to me "I guess you need to take me to my new home"
Christopher made the Navarre High School JV soccer team. We are so very proud of him. 15 boys made the JV team and I am not sure how many made varsity (freshman are not allowed to make varsity). So our family are now officially Navarre Raider Fans!
WAY TO GO CHRISTOPHER!

I know you feel like you're gloating if you say how good he is, but I have seen the boy play and he is AWESOME!! I always liked when his team played Sabrina's team because he is so FUN to watch! Congrats Christopher!!
That is so exciting. I was nervous just reading your post. I can't imagine what it must be like when your kids start doing things they have to try out for! Scary! Way to go Christopher!
