Anger
I try really hard to focus on making my post about the good things in my life. That is not to say that I live in this wonderful world of butterflies and rainbows because believe me I dont. I do however feel the need to complain for a moment. We got a call this morning from the Vice Principal at Hannah's school. He was calling to inform us that they are overstaffed and so the teacher Hannah as gotten used to for the past 2 months will now be leaving the school to go to another school. They are taking the 16 students in Hannah's class and dividing them between the 12 other first grade teachers. I was livid, not only did Hannah have her best friend in class with her but these are 6 year old children that now have to be the "new kid" in class. It is as if we moved and she has to start over from scratch. These classes the kids are moving into have been established. They have made friends, they know there teacher and now my baby has to find her way with a new teacher and new students. Hannah was devestated when I picked her up today. She got in the car and broke into tears. She is sad that she will not get to see her teacher anymore, and that her classes is breaking apart. These kids have bonded with eachother does the District here have no clue on Children and there needs! Seriously, what as parents are we to do when we have no control over a situation? I feel like it has been one thing after another with this school district. Thank you for letting me vent my frustations! Now, I will get back to my butterfly and Rainbows!

Marci,
Poor Hannah! I feel so bad. I was just talking to a mom today here about something similar, only just about one student in particular. He just moved here and lived in a small town off base and started school there. Then, they moved on base so he switched schools. Then they switched him into our class (seems to be the mormom class and they thought it would help him out friends wise) only to find out that our classes are too big and they will be adding a new a.m. class and moving all the NEW kids into it!! So, there he goes again. This will be his 4th class this year...have I mentioned we have only been in school a month and a half!!!
Good luck to Hannah. I'm sure she will make new friends quickly...I hope!
Rainbows, schmaimbows!! That is ridiculous!! I am livid for you!
The school system here in Wake County, NC shuffles the kids around every year - siblings going to different schools and on different schedules (traditional vs. year-round). And the education is poor compared to the schools in PA we went to. We decided to home school and it is going great - the girls are getting a better education, they're learning Spanish which they don't teach at school and it's becoming increasingly beneficial to know it around here. They're shielded from all the bologna that goes on in schools and our youngest skipped a grade.
I'm sorry this happened Marci. Pray about this situation. God bless you and your family!
