Halloween's Past
So to be perfectly honest with everyone, Halloween is not one of my favorite holidays. For some reason it just does not thrill me. I try every year to have the Halloween spirit and can usually pull it off. This year is no different, I am going along and trying really hard to keep up that Halloween spirit, but I find when I am getting ready for it to be over, I can open up the computer and look at the year where Matt and the boys came up with some really great costumes. I thought I should share the laughs with everyone. So please enjoy the pictures of when my two boys went as a toilet and a plunger! It makes me laugh every time I think about it, and then I can feel the Holiday Spirit and remember this is what Halloween is all about MY KIDS!

Go Raiders!!
Christopher had Soccer tryouts for the High School this past week. Soccer is something Christopher loves and I think he is pretty good at. Of course I am his mother, but others have also told me that he is a good player. So tryouts started Monday morning at the 6:30am. The boys had to run a mile and then sprints. Christopher ran the mile in 6:15. And the sprints had to be run in under 18secs. Then Monday afternoon they went back to scrimmage and do some drills. Tuesday afternoon they did more drills. Today they were suppose to have one more day of tryouts and then they would find out if they made the team or not. Well yesterday after practice they said they would be posting the results after school today and practice would start after school. I have been extremely nervous this whole week(as if I were trying out). I think as a mother you want the best for your child. I knew this was something that Christopher wanted really really badly. I know how nervous I was for him, I can only imagine what he was feeling. So as I sat in the car waiting for him to emerge from school I think I about hyperventilated. Of course most of you know that Christopher is a joker, so I had told him last night that he is not allowed to say he didn't make it if he did (I had done this to my mom when I tried out for the dance team and she still talks about it to this day, Sorry Mom!) So as he is coming out to the car, I cannot tell by looking at him, if he made it or not, As I am sitting there giving the thumbs up sign he just looks at me....When he finally gets in the car, he just says to me "I guess you need to take me to my new home"
Christopher made the Navarre High School JV soccer team. We are so very proud of him. 15 boys made the JV team and I am not sure how many made varsity (freshman are not allowed to make varsity). So our family are now officially Navarre Raider Fans!
WAY TO GO CHRISTOPHER!

It was just like yesterday.
OK so it has really been 2 years that I have seen my Very Best Friend Amy. But from the time she got off the plane to visit, it did seem like it was yesterday. One of the creepy things that Amy and I first noticed is that we were dressed almost exactly the same down to the same pair of shoes. We had such a blast. From relaxing on the beach to hunting for shells and getting soaking wet in our clothes. It has been forever that I have laughed so much and felt so relaxed. Even though this vacation was for Amy, I surely benefited from her visit. I can't even really put into words what her friendship means to me. She has such wonderful insight and I could sit and talk to her for hours. Amy Thanks for such a great week, I am sorry that it had to end. Next time it won't be 2 years! Our Family loves you!

Sarah Palin
And I’m proud to be an American where as least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.
tears welled up in my eyes as I thought about how lucky I am to live in this country and have the opportunities that I do. It was just a really wonderful moment I could share with my daughter. Sarah Palin came out and the crowd was energized and excited. It was exciting to take part in history today. Now I can only hope that I will be able to say "I saw her before she was the Vice President of the United States." I have attached some pictures from today. Excuse the way the 4 of us look we just got out of the rain and we were all soaking wet!

Anger
I try really hard to focus on making my post about the good things in my life. That is not to say that I live in this wonderful world of butterflies and rainbows because believe me I dont. I do however feel the need to complain for a moment. We got a call this morning from the Vice Principal at Hannah's school. He was calling to inform us that they are overstaffed and so the teacher Hannah as gotten used to for the past 2 months will now be leaving the school to go to another school. They are taking the 16 students in Hannah's class and dividing them between the 12 other first grade teachers. I was livid, not only did Hannah have her best friend in class with her but these are 6 year old children that now have to be the "new kid" in class. It is as if we moved and she has to start over from scratch. These classes the kids are moving into have been established. They have made friends, they know there teacher and now my baby has to find her way with a new teacher and new students. Hannah was devestated when I picked her up today. She got in the car and broke into tears. She is sad that she will not get to see her teacher anymore, and that her classes is breaking apart. These kids have bonded with eachother does the District here have no clue on Children and there needs! Seriously, what as parents are we to do when we have no control over a situation? I feel like it has been one thing after another with this school district. Thank you for letting me vent my frustations! Now, I will get back to my butterfly and Rainbows!
